1962 -- Minister of Guidance and News Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah tasks Bader Al-Bader with heading the Kuwaiti office in Dubai, charged with constructing schools, clinics, and mosques in the seven emirates.
1964 -- The Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah issues a decree restricting imports only to Kuwaitis, national companies and limited shareholding corporations.
1970 -- The Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah issues law for regulating corporate stocks.
1987 -- Kuwaiti Army Chief of Staff Sheikh Mubarak Al-Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah passes away at the age of 53. He was named to serve in the post in 1963 and retired in 1980.
2005 -- Popular local singer Issa Khourshid, better known as 'Ghareed Al-Shatea,' passes away at the age of 61.
2006 -- The Kuwait national squash team for juniors wins the 18th Arab tournament.
2007 -- The daily Al-Shahed newspaper launches.
2010 -- Kuwait and Japan sign agreement to encourage and protect mutual investments.
2013 -- National Assembly approves discussing five grillings and postponing another. Also, the Assembly renews confidence in Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Health Minister Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.
2015 -- Kuwait, the United Kingdom sign agreements on criminals' swap and judicial assistance. (end) hb
