KUWAIT, Nov 18 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Minister of Health Dr. Jamal Al-Harbi has reiterated support to scientific and specialized conferences that encourage the medical staff to do their best for promoting medicals services to the public.
This was the core of the minister's statement to the opening of the Kuwait 3rd Conference on Pediatric Neurology, the 3rd GCC Epilepsy Conference 2017, and the 9th Kuwaiti-Lebanese Congress on Epilepsy.
Such scientific events are basic to enrich the Kuwaiti medical scene through exchange of expertise, the minister added in the statement delivered on his behalf by Secretary General of the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specializations (KIMS) Dr. Ibrahim Hadi.
Today's event reflects the ministry's keenness on continued medical learning and developing technical and professional performance, he noted.
For her part, Conference President Dr. Asmaa Al-Tawari stressed the prime significance of the topics to be covered by the event, which is themed "neurological disorders from childhood to adulthood." Talking to KUNA on the sidelines of the gathering, she said that major world specialists are taking part in the conference, representing nine Arab and European countries.
She added that the agenda comprises 11 lectures and four workshops.
Kuwait has submitted nine papers to be discussed during the conference and Saudi Arabia 8, besides three from each of Canada and Turkey, two from Belgium, five from Lebanon and one from Bahrain.
Basics of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and children's brain planning are two key issues in the workshops, she noted. (end) ndq.msa
