KUWAIT, Nov 6 (KUNA) -- 1956 -- His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, issues a decree stating a 15-day ban on export of basic supplies such as rice, flour, and sugar after their prices skyrocketed as a result of the three-state aggression on the Suez Canal.
1978 -- Kuwait sees the first play for children, "Sindbad of the Sea".
1991 -- His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, turns the wheel marking the dousing of the last burning oil field, after the oil fields were set ablaze by the retreating Iraqi forces in the war to liberate Kuwait in 1991.
1994 -- The Kuwaiti Shooting Federation is established.
2002 -- The National Company for Technological Projects was established with a capital of KD 100 million.
2003 -- The State of Kuwait was granted the Golden Award by the British House of Commons for the best environment project in relation to the rehabilitation of Al-Qurain landfill.
2006 -- The National Assembly approves the Zakat (alms) law and the contribution of public shareholding companies with one percent of their net profit in the state's budget.
2006 -- His Highness the Deputy Amir, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, issues decree 327/2006 on the establishing of the Foreign Ministry's Diplomatic Institute.
2007 -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issues a decree establishing an authority to monitor governmental performance under the supervision of the Prime Minister.
2010 -- The Ministry of Finance signs a contract with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to set up the IMF Middle East Center for Economics and Finance (CEF), which serves as the IMF regional training center for member countries of the Arab League.
2010 -- Qadsiya club beats Syria's Al-Ittihad in penalty shootout 4-2 at Jaber international stadium to win the AFC football cup.
2012 -- Governor of capital governorate Sheikh Ali Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah attended opening of a road named after Kuwait in an Italian city.
2013 -- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah issues decision to allow children of illegal residents martyred in defense of Kuwait to join the army.
2015 -- Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah relinquishes chairmanship of the Asian Shooting Federation in favor of Bahrain's Sheikh Ali Al-Khalifa, who was chosen uncontested for the next four years. (end) rk
