KUWAIT, Nov 5 (KUNA) -- The General Authority for Youth and the General Authority for Persons with Disabilities Affairs signed on Sunday a protocol of cooperation to invest and empower youth with disabilities and prepare them to develop their skills and talents to contribute to the development of the society.
Director General of the General Authority for Youth Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi said at a news conference that this approach aims to provide opportunities for young people with disabilities and organize joint programs between the two authorities in the fields of innovation, craft, art, sports and entrepreneurship of small projects.
Al-Mutairi added that the protocol will allow young people with disabilities to benefit from the various facilities rendered by the Youth Authority, pointing out that it has been coordinating with the NGOs sponsoring the disabled to activate these facilities and make the most of it for the development of young people from such category in all areas of youth work.
He said that the two sides started implementing this protocol today through convention of a workshop with the participation of concerned figures, specialists and specialized schools for people with disabilities to explain the objectives of the project which aims to provide a safe and secure environment for young people with disabilities.(end).
