Islamic Jihad: "Five of our members were martyred in tunnel attack by Israeli forces"

GAZA, Nov 3 (KUNA) -- Palestinian Al-Quds Brigade, the military wing of Islamic Jihad, said on Friday that five of its members had been killed earlier this week when Israel blew up a cross-border tunnel being dug by militants from the Gaza Strip, bringing the death toll in the strike to 12 Palestinians.
In a press release, the group said five members were killed during a preparatory operation in one of the tunnels east of Khan Younis, south of Gaza.
The group added Bader Musabah, Ahmad Al-Sabahkhi, Shadi Al-Hameri, Mohammad Al-Buhaisi, and Ala Abu Ghrab were martyred during the attack.
Al-Quds Briagdes also said that it was denied access to the collapsed tunnel and was unable to recover the bodies of its five members.
Hamas, the dominant Islamist group in Gaza, had said earlier it lost two other members in the tunnel collapse and threatened to retaliate.
Hamas accused Israel of trying to undermine a reconciliation agreement it reached with Mahmoud Abbas, the president of the Palestinian Authority, last month. (end) wab.mb
