Turkish premier to visit U.S. amid strained ties

ISTANBUL, Nov 3 (KUNA) -- Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim will begin a visit to the United States on November 7, against backdrop of icy ties between Ankara and Washington.
Official sources said on Friday that Yildirim's mission in the U.S. would begin on November 7 and end on 11th of the month.
He will hold talks with U.S. officials, the sources said, however they stopped short of elaborating on topics he would discuss with the leaders in Washington.
Turkish-U.S. ties have been strained over various files, namely the issue of Fethullah Gulen, leader of a main opposition trend in Turkey, charged with masterminding a plot to overthrow the government in middle of July 2016.
Moreover, Ankara accuses Washington of supporting separatist Kurds. (end) ta.rk
