Two Indian soldiers, militant killed in Kashmir gunfight

NEW DELHI, Nov 3 (KUNA) -- Two security personnel and one militant were killed in an encounter that took place in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir in North India, Indian police said on Friday.
A search operation was launched following an intelligence report about presence of militants in Samboora village near Pampore city, Indo Asian News Agency said quoting local police.
As security personnel came close to the area, hiding militants started firing and an intense exchange of fire took place, which resulted in killing two soldiers from the Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army and one militant.
Two other militants managed to escape from the spot.
New Delhi accuses Islamabad of supporting and funding the armed groups in Kashmir, claims which Islamabad denies and insists Kashmir's people are defending their freedom. (end) atk.mb
