Parliament to discuss vote of no confidence, other items

KUWAIT, Oct 30 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's National Assembly will hold two sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss a vote of no confidence against Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Minister of Information Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.
MPs will focus on the formation of temporary committees, a bill on sports and other items.
According to the agenda, the parliament will vote on the no-confidence motion, submitted by MPS Shuaib Al-Muwaizri, Waleed Al-Tabtabaie, Mohammad Al-Mutair, Abdullah Al-Roumi, Hamdan Al-Azmi, Mubarak Al-Hajarf, Thamer Al-Dhefeeri, Riyadh Al-Adasani, Jamaan Al-Herbesh and Omar Al-Tabtabaie.
The agenda includes discussing the formation of the temporary committees, including youth and sports, housing and business environment for people with special needs as well as women and family affairs, and environment.
It also contains the sports and youth's report on a bill and a proposal on developing sports, privatization and professionalism, namely two draft resolutions to law 42/1978.
MPs are going to look also into a letter by Minister of Justice and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs on the parliament's approval of a recommendation by some lawmakers that the Anti-Corruption Commission opens the door to accept any complaints or reports on cases of deposits and remittances since 2006, with the aim of avoiding reoccurrence of violations relating to these issues.
The lawmakers discuss a report by the economic and financial committee on fees and financial costs for utilities and public services, and the reconsideration of gasoline prices.
The parliament is set to consider reports of several committees, including human rights, environment, study of negative phenomenon in Kuwait, special needs affairs, legislative and legal affairs, internal and defense affairs, public funds' protection, health and social affairs, financial and economic affairs, foreign affairs, and women and family affairs.
MPs deal with some proposals on the expedition of implementing the domestic workers' law and the clarification of procedures by the government regarding the issue of "Khor Abdullah" as well as issues of unemployment and housing.
The agenda further involves some requests on the formation of investigation committees regarding the violations of appointment of prosecutors, fire in southern Kuwait, demographic imbalance and other issues.
The parliament focuses on the government action program for the 15th legislative term for the 2016-17 and 2019-20 toward sustainable development in line with the 98 Article of the country's constitution. (end) nsh.fn.hm
