US-Turkish talks on visas see positive atmospheres - Turkey's FM

ANKARA, Oct 21 (KUNA) -- Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Saturday said the US-Turkish talks on the suspension of granting entry visas to citizens of the two countries witnessed "positive" atmospheres.
In a press statement in Antalya, Cavusoglu said if Washington does not grant entry visas to the Turkish people, Ankara will take a similar step.
He added that the US created the problem, expressing his hope for reaching a resolution to the crisis.
A US delegation headed by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Jonathan R. Cohen last Wednesday discussed the suspension of entry visas with the Turkish officials.
On October 8, the US Embassy to Turkey announced the suspension of visas to the Turkish people and Ankara took a similar move.
The decision came following Turkish authorities' detention of a US consulate employee in Istanbul on October 4 on charges of espionage and linking to the so-called the "parallel state." (end) rs.hm
