EU condemns attack in Egypt

BRUSSELS, Oct 21 (KUNA) -- The European Union condemned Saturday the attack on Egyptian security forces in the Western Desert last night in which more than 50 police officers and conscripts were killed.
"As we continue to follow developments on the ground, the EU reiterates that it stands with the Egyptian people and authorities in facing terrorism," said Catherine Ray, spokesperson for EU High Representative Federica Mogherini, in a statement.
"The European Union extends its deepest condolences to the families and relatives of those killed and injured," added the brief statement. (end) nk.gta
