Turkish court sentences 19 people for life for failed coup attmpt links

ANKARA, Oct 20 (KUNA) -- A Turkish court sentenced 12 people for life with hard labor for their links with the "parallel entity, accused by Ankara of being the mastermind of the failed coup attempt, which took place in July 2016.
The supreme criminal court sentenced seven people for life but without labor in the same case, Anadolu news agency quoted a judicial source as saying.
Courts in Ankara and Istanbul have issued life sentences against people with links with the July 15 failed coup attempt.
The coup bid had been carried out by a number of army officers. Ankara is accusing what it called the parallel entity, headed by the US-based Fethullah Gulen, of plotting the attmpt. (end) rs.bs
