UK PM says Iran deal vital for Europe's security

BRUSSELS, OCT 20 (KUNA) -- UK Prime Minister Theresa May reiterated Friday her support for the Iranian nuclear deal after holding talks with EU leaders.
"On Iran, we have reiterated our firm commitment to the nuclear deal which we believe is vitally important for our shared security," she told a news conference after attending the 2-day EU summit in Brussels.
On North Korea, she said "we stand united in a clear condemnation of North Korea's aggressive and illegal missile and nuclear states." May said that on Thursday night over dinner she spoke to EU leaders over her vision of for a new deep and special partnership between the EU and the UK after Brexit.
She stressed that the UK will remain fully committed to the defence and security of Europe.
Meanwhile, the EU leaders in their conclusions on Brexit Friday said "in its next session in December, the European Council will reassess the state of progress in the negotiations with a view to determining whether sufficient progress has been achieved "on the three main issues regarding citizens' rights, Ireland and financial obligations.
