1971 -- An Amiri Decree was issued dividing the College of Sciences, Arts, and Education of Kuwait University into two colleges; the College of Sciences and the College of Arts and Education.
1992 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah inaugurated the first session of the seventh legislative term of the National Assembly. He stressed that defending Kuwait is top priority.
1996 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah inaugurated the first session of the eighth legislative term of the National Assembly.
2001 -- Kuwait and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) signed an agreement in Paris to establish "The Amir Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Prize for Research and Training in Special Needs Education for the Mentally Disabled." 2002 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah decorated the former rector of Kuwait University, Dr. Fayza Al-Kharafi, with the first-degree medal in appreciation for her services and efforts to develop higher education.
2004 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issued decree no. 307 to bring supervision over Credit and Savings Bank under the State Minister of Housing Affairs.
2004 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issued decree no. 308 to bring supervision over Kuwait Airways under the Minister of Communications, previously the duty of the Minister of Finance virtue of law 21/65.
2008 -- The Central Agency of Information Technology (CAIT) launched the first phase of the state's electronic gate in cooperation with a number of ministries, and government and private bodies.
2011 -- Kuwaiti ship arrived in Somalia to deliver 650 tons worth of relief aid. (end) mb
