EU leaders to discuss Iranian, North Korean nuclear issue

BRUSSELS, Oct 18 (KUNA) -- Leaders of European Union (EU) are expected to discuss relations with Turkey as well as the Iranian and North Korean nuclear deals and ballistic programs in their summit in Brussels on Thursday.
The President of the European Council Donald Tusk, in his invitation letter to the EU leaders said "over dinner, we will look into the deeply worrying developments in DPRK (North Korea), the situation as regards Iran as well as Turkey." Moreover, they will have a political discussion on the external aspects of migration, with a specific focus on the financial needs necessary to stem the flow of illegal migrants from Africa. The EU leaders will also discuss Digital Europe and security and defense issues.
Furthermore, French President Emmanuel Macron will talk about trade negotiations, and UK Prime Minister Theresa May will share her reflections about the current state of the Brexit talks, noted the letter.
On Friday morning, the participants will discuss agenda for the coming two years to focus on practical solutions to EU citizens' real problems.
After that, 27 EU leaders (excluding the UK PM) will discuss the way ahead in the negotiations on the withdrawal of the UK from the EU. (end) nk.ag
