Moscow's MGIMO confers honorary doctorate on Saudi King

MOSCOW, Oct 7 (KUNA) -- Russia's Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), which is operated by the foreign ministry, has granted Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud an honorary doctorate on Saturday.
MGIMO's scientific board has unanimously decided to confer the honorary degree on King Salman for his great contribution to the global peace and stability, as well as the cooperation between the Kingdom and Russia, the institute's Rector Anatoly Torkunov said on the occasion.
For his part, the Saudi Monarch highly appreciated the honor.
The honoring ceremony was attended by Russian's Minister of Education and Science Olga Vasilyeva and the Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mikhail Bogdanov.
