Kuwait's crude oil exports to China hit almost 1-year high

TOKYO, Sept 28 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's crude oil exports to China in August hit a 11-month high of 1.74 million tons, equivalent to 410,000 barrels per day (bpd), up 18.2 percent from a year earlier, official data showed on Thursday.
The figure was the highest since September last year, when Kuwait's crude shipments to the world's biggest oil importer reached 1.89 million tons (463,000 bpd), according to the General Administration of Customs.
In the January-August period, Kuwait exported 333,000 bpd to China, up 2.4 percent on the year.
China's overall imports of crude oil in August rose 3.4 percent from a year earlier to 8.04 million bpd, the lowest level in nine months.
Russia remained China's top supplier, but its shipments declined 4.5 percent on the year to 1.05 million bpd, followed by Angola with 988,000 bpd, up 27.8 percent. Saudi Arabia became third, although imports from the kingdom plunged 16.2 percent to 865,000 bpd. Iran ranked fourth and Iraq fifth, respectively. (end) mk.gta
