KUWAIT, Sept 24 (KUNA) -- Minister of Justice Dr. Falah Al-Azab said on Sunday that looking out for orphans is a moral and humanitarian obligation.
In a speech to open a new edifice belonging to the public authority for minority affairs in Al-Ahmadi governorate, he spoke of the authority's humble beginnings as an orphanage built by the late Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
He added that a number of Gulf nations followed Kuwait's example by launching similar bodies to care for orphans.
Al-Azab, who is also Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs, underscored his country's eagerness to cater to the needs of some 43,000 orphaned children. (end) amn.nam
