Kuwaiti official tells UNHCR of progress on illegal residents' status

KUWAIT, Sept 24 (KUNA) -- The Executive Director of Kuwait's Central Apparatus for Illegal Residents' Affairs Saleh Al-Fadhalah held talks with a UN official on Sunday over the issue of the country's illegal residents.
In his encounter with the head of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees' office in Kuwait (UNHCR) Dr. Hanan Hamdan, Al-Fadhalah explained to the UN official that Kuwait has taken measures to address the needs of this segment of society.
He pointed out that Kuwait has begun providing the illegal residents with ample employment opportunities, in addition to granting them unhindered access to education and healthcare.
On these gracious incentives, he said that it reflects the altruism and generosity that Kuwaitis have long been known for. (end) msa.nam
