UK strongly condemns N. Korea "reckless" nuclear test

LONDON, Sept 3 (KUNA) -- UK Prime Minister Theresa May strongly condemned Sunday North Korea's recent nuclear test using a hydrogen bomb into intercontinental ballistic missiles.
"This latest action by North Korea is reckless and poses an unacceptable further threat to the international community," May said in a press statement.
She urged the international community to continue to increase the pressure on Pyongyang's leaders to stop their "destabilizing" actions.
"I discussed the serious and grave threat these dangerous and illegal actions present with Prime Minister Abe in Japan this week," said the British Premier.
She reiterated the call for tougher action, including increasing the pace of implementation of existing sanctions and looking urgently in the UNSC at new measures.
Earlier, North Korea announced that it has successfully conducted a test of a hydrogen bomb that can be loaded into its intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs).
The announcement comes hours after an artificial earthquake with a 5.7 magnitude was detected near its nuclear test site in northeastern area. (end) mrn.ma
