BEIRUT, Aug 27 (KUNA) -- Meshari Al-Thifeeri won the Middle East Rally's Group N for the third time in his career after maintaining his lead in Lebanon on Monday.
The Kuwaiti, who came fifth in the Rally of Lebanon, won the regional accolade leading his closest rival by a whopping 109 points.
After the race, Al-Thifeeri told KUNA the result means he would not be taking part in the upcoming tour of the rally in Shiraz, Iran.
He dedicated the win to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti people.
The Rally of Lebanon was clinched for the 13th time by Lebanon's Roger Feghali, with his compatriots Gilbert Bannout and Rodolphe Asmar trailing in second and third respectively. (end) wsm.sd
