KHARTOUM, Aug 25 (KUNA) -- China has announced a new batch of financial aid to Sudan estimated at 500 million yuan (roughly USD 75 million).
In a joint press conference with Sudan's First Vice-President Bakri Hassan Saleh, visiting Chinese Vice-Premier Zhang Gaoli also disclosed that his country has decided to write off 160 million yuan (about USD 24 million) of soft loans to the Sudanese government.
He called for intensifying efforts to expand oil cooperation between the two countries.
The Chinese official hailed Sudan's support to the initiative of the Belt and Silk Road launched by the Chinese president.
For his part, Saleh lauded the model relations between Khartoum and Beijing.
He expressed appreciation of China's support to Sudan during delicate times, and pledged redoubling efforts to develop strategic partnership between the two friendly countries. (end) mmm.ibi
