CAIRO, Aug 22 (KUNA) -- Arab officials Tuesday heaped praise on Kuwait for its determination to ensure that anti-terrorism efforts, agreed upon at an Arab summit, ultimately come to fruition.
In a speech to close a meeting of senior Arab officials, the council of Arab ministers of social affairs' chief executive Ghada Wali was thankful "for a Kuwaiti initiative to support Arab efforts to exterminate terrorism." On the Kuwaiti proposal, Wali, who is also Egypt's Minister of Social Solidarity, said it would be taken into account and that a special committee dealing with the fight against terrorism will devise a plan of action based on the Kuwaiti suggestion.
Similarly, Jordan's envoy to the Arab League Ali Al-Ayid spoke highly of the Kuwaiti plan, saying he was "grateful to Kuwait" for pitching this suggestion.
The Kuwaiti plan entails "programs and activities over a minimum two-year period that aim to buttress anti-terrorism efforts." (end) ms.nam
