Dignitaries pay tribute to Kuwaiti victims of Burkina Faso terror attack

KUWAIT, Aug 17 (KUNA) -- Ministers and lawmakers hailed on Thursday virtues of two prominent citizens and clerics, both victims of a terrorist attack on a restaurant in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso last Monday.
The bodies of Grand Mosque Imam Dr. Waleed Al-Ali and Fahad Al-Husseini were laid to rest, as leading state officials, lawmakers, and public figures mourned the victims' families.
Minister of Commerce and Industry as well as Acting Minister of State for Youth Affairs Khaled Al-Roudhan said that such huge gathering to say farewell to the victims is another testament to the world to Kuwaitis' love to charity work.
Al-Roudhan said last night "we mourned the demise of Kuwaiti later actor AbdulHusain Abdulredha and today we mourn two highly-respected scholars who were on a holy mission, asking Allah almighty to bring patience and peace to the victims' families." For his part, lawmaker Abdulkarim Al-Kanderi said that they are saddened today because Kuwait has lost two ambassadors of its charity and humanitarian work, a work that is deeply rooted in the hearts and minds of all Kuwaiti people.
Meanwhile, Assistant Undersecretary for Mosque Affairs in Awqaf Ministry Walid Al-Shuaib said that the two martyrs were known by their relentless charity work and dedication.
Al-Shuaib added that terrorism has targeted two people who were inaugurating two new mosques in Burkina Faso.
Last Monday, two Kuwaitis were among 18 dead victims of a terrorist attack at a restaurant in Ouagadougou. (Pickup previous) sss.mb
