MADRID, Aug 17 (KUNA) -- A man driving a van rammed it into crowds of people on a fashionable street in the heart of Barcelona on Thursday, injuring scores of pedestrians, the official television reported.
The TV said the stampede incident happened on Las Ramblas Street, one of the busiest avenues in the city. The driver was seen escaping from the scene after the attack.
The attack took place around 5:30 p.m., the TV said, indicating that the driver tried to hit as many people as possible before running away.
