Seven police officers killed in suicide attacks in Iraq

BAGHDAD, Aug 16 (KUNA) -- Seven police officers were killed in two suicide attacks on government security posts in Baiji province north of the capital Baghdad, police said Wednesday.
A police source told KUNA orders to strengthen security measures in Baiji were issued after five suicide bombers blew themselves up at two security posts, one manned by the military and the other by the police.
An explosion at a federal police station killed six personnel and injured seven others. Another attack targeted an Iraqi military position, killing one soldier. (end) aah.nhq
