1977 -- An Amiri Decree was issued, establishing the Faculty of Graduate Studies at Kuwait University.
1992 -- The Cabinet established a think tank, affiliated to the National Assembly's Secretariat, to provide information and recommendations to the State leadership on various affairs.
1998 -- Kuwaiti athlete Hussein Ali Al-Enezi won the gold medal in the shot put competition at the International Paralympics Committee's (IPC) Birmingham World Championship, recording 12.71 meters.
1999 -- Ministry of Health began charging fees for health services to non-Kuwaitis.
2002 -- Media expert Abdul-Latif Al-Awadhi was appointed minister delegate for news and media services at the Arab League.
2010 -- Kuwait Sports Club won the football super cup for the third time after beating Qadsiya 3-0.
2010 -- Representative of His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah attended the funeral of former Maltese President Guido De Marco.
2011 -- The Kuwaiti female engineer, Zamzam Saleh Al-Rakf, was elected board member in the International Desalination Association (IDA), thus becoming the IDA Representative in the Middle East. (end) gta
