BAGHDAD, July 29 (KUNA) -- The Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi has called for excluding what he referred to as "the corrupt" from the ruling political bodies in the country.
Addressing the opening of the third session of the Iraqi youth parliament, Al-Abadi added that "the corrupt" are no longer wanted in the ruling category, but only the fair and honest ones are needed to avoid a similar disaster like the onewhich "threatened the fall on entire Iraq." The Premier was apparently referring to the fall of Mosul in the hands of the so-called Islamic State (IS) three years ago.
Excluding the corrupt from the military system has helped restore the prestige of the state, the enforcement of the law and the liberation of the land occupied by the IS, he stressed.
"We do not want the corrupt to be back to the leadership in the military establishment," Al-Abadi said, noting that there is a dire need for political leaders like the military ones who hurried defeated the IS.
On the upcoming battle for liberating Tal Afar city, west of Nineveh, the premier said that all forces would take part, including the anti-terrorism units, the federal police and the Local and Popular Mobilization Forces. (end) ahh.msa
