AMMAN, July 4 (KUNA) -- The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) breached the old walls of Raqqa city and began clashing with operatives of the so-called Islamic State (IS), said a source Tuesday.
The SDF was successful in its mission to enter the city due to air support provided by the US military, indicated the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR)
The Syrian Democratic Forces spent months closing in on the IS group's stronghold in Raqqa. (end)
