US adds Hizbul Mujahideen leader to terror list

WASHINGTON, June 26 (KUNA) -- The US on Monday added a senior leader of Hizbul Mujahideen to its terror list.
The militant group operates in the Kashmir region between India and Pakistan.
The State Department said Mohammad Yusuf Shah "owed to block any peaceful resolution to the Kashmir conflict, threatened to train more Kashmiri suicide bombers, and vowed to turn the Kashmir valley 'into a graveyard for Indian forces.'" He is now denied access to the US financial system and Americans are prohibited from engaging in transactions with him. (end) ys.mt
