Muslim World League condemns terror attack in Makkah

JEDDAH, June 24 (KUNA) -- The Muslim World League (MWL) condemned late Friday the terror attack which occurred in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, deeming it as a heinous crime against the most sacred city for Muslims.
MWL President Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Issa expressed in a statement his utter contempt towards those who planned to carry out the attack.
Issa also expressed his support to the Saudi leadership and people, wishing for the security and stability of the holy city of Makkah.
The Saudi authorities announced yesterday that a suicide attacker, trapped by security forces in a house in Makkah Friday, blew himself up after refusing calls to surrender, while five suspects were arrested including a woman.
The suicide attacker and the other five were suspected of planning "a terrorist act" against the holy shrine in Makkah and Muslim worshippers, said a Saudi Interior Ministry spokesman. (end) nsa.gta
