PKK kills two Turkish soldiers in SE Turkey

ISTANBUL, June 22 (KUNA) -- Two Turkish soldiers were killed Thursday in clashes between Turkish forces and PKK in Turkey's southeastern province of Bitlis, the Army's General Staff said.
The two soldiers were initially taken to hospital as they were wounded in the clashes in Tatvan on the western shore of Lake Van, but later succumbed to their injuries, it said in a statement.
A third soldier is still being treated at Tatvan State Hospital, it added.
The Turkish army often launches operations against PKK positions in response to the outlawed group's attacks on army and security forces. (end) ta.mt
