France announces new cabinet lineup

PARIS, June 21 (KUNA) -- French President Emmanuel Macron unveiled on Wednesday a new cabinet lineup led by Prime Minister Edouard Philippe and including some technocrats.
Florence Parly, a businessperson who worked for major transport companies, was assigned to the defense portfolio replacing Sylvie Goulard, member of the Democratic Movement (MoDem) and member of the European Parliament.
Nicole Belloubet, a law expert, was named as justice minister, replacing Francois Bayrou, a centrist politician and president the MoDem of who quitted the government along with Goulard over allegations that their movement misused European parliamentary funds.
Jean-Yves Le Drian, member of the French Socialist Party, retained his post as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development. (end) mjz.gb
