Brussels incident act of terror - Prosecutor

BRUSSELS, June 20 (KUNA) -- The incident at the Brussels-Central Station is considered an act of terror, Belgian federal prosecutor said on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, the spokeswoman of Brussels prosecutor Ine Van Wymersch confirmed that a small explosion occurred in the Central Station, and that the suspect was neutralized by military personnel present at the station.
Media reports said that the suspect has been shot three to four times and is probably dead.
Van Wymersch confirmed that there were no other dead or injured cases at first sight. The police were on the spot very quickly, she said, and the situation is under control.
According to media reports, there was also an incident at the tourist landmark Grand Place, but the spokesperson could not confirm this . Van Wymersch said that there was some panic, and that for a security reason a very wide perimeter was closed at the Grand Place.
The suspect was shot down by the military in the station shortly after the small explosion before 21 hours local time. A spokesperson for the Belgian federal prosecutor , Eric Van Der Sypt , was quoted saying by the Belgian media that the man's identity is not yet known, and he could not confirm whether the man is still alive or dead.
