Roadside bomb kills six policemen in S. Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD, June 20 (KUNA) -- At least six Afghan highway policemen, including a commander, were killed in a roadside bombing in Afghanistan's southern Helmand province on Tuesday.
The bomb exploded on the Kandahar highway in Nehr Siraj area of Greshk district, Afghan Provincial governor's Spokesman, Omar Zwak told local media.
He further said that the highway commander in Greshk, Juma Khan Dostyar, was on a patrol along with his team when the bomb ripped through their vehicle.
The commander and five other policemen were killed in the bombing, he confirmed.
No group has so far claimed responsibility of the bombing but Taliban rebels have paced up their attacks after the launch of their spring offensive against Afghan and foreign security forces across Afghanistan. (end) sbk.mb
