KUWAIT, June 20 (KUNA) -- Two committees have been formed to set up executive mechanisms for issuing micro-business and mobile food trucks licenses, Minister of Trade and Industry Khaled Al-Roudhan said on Tuesday.
The statement followed a coordination meeting that featured Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Mohammad Al-Jabri, Director General of Kuwait Municipality Ahmad Al-Manfouhi and a number of officials of the Public Authority for Manpower, the Ministry of Trade and Industry added.
Al-Roudhan, also Acting Minister of State for Youth Affairs, said outcome of the meeting that was also attended by some MPs came in activation of the ministerial decree No. 33 regarding the issuance of free licenses after the end of Eid al-Fitr holiday.
He said the meeting aimed to overcome obstacles and difficulties for small entrepreneurs, and to come up with integrated projects. He extolled the constructive cooperation by all participants aiming to provide the best services to citizens and facilitate all procedures.
The minister stressed the government's keenness on materializing the vision of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to develop Kuwait into a global commercial and financial hub through keeping pace with the world's economic developments and the creation of proper jobs for the Kuwaiti youth.
The issuance of licenses would contribute to improving business environment, he noted, indicating that they also include commercial and intellectual businesses like designing websites, translations and others.
Meanwhile, Minister Al-Jabri expressed his hope for enacting the law without disadvantages so as to attract the Kuwaiti youth and provide labor market with their creative ideas and projects.
The decision to issue the licenses is based on eagerness of the government to provide jobs for youth and coping up with the technology revolution, he said.
He referred to the improvement and development of Kuwait in international business environment. (end) mam.msa.hm
