Iraq's Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi with Commander of US Central Command Army General Joseph L. Votel
BAGHDAD, June 5 (KUNA) -- Iraq's Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi and the visiting Commander of US Central Command Army General Joseph L. Votel on Monday discussed the future after the military defeat of the so-called Islamic State (IS) in Iraq.
Al-Abadi and Votel today reviewed the military gains realized by the Iraqi forces in Mosul and the regional and international support to Iraq in the fight against terrorism, an official statement said here.
During the meeting, the CentCom Commander renewed the US stance backing Iraq in the fight against terrorist groups, pointing to the victories the Iraqi troops achieved against the IS. (end)
