GCC reaffirms its support to Bahrain in restoring order, stability

RIYADH, May 23 (KUNA) -- The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on Tuesday reaffirmed its support to the Kingdom of Bahrain in all measures to protect its security and stability.
In a statement, GCC Secretary General Abdullatif Al-Zayani said the council recognizes efforts exerted by Bahrain in comprehending those in violations of the law, and efforts exerted by its security apparatus to restore order, safety to citizens, and stability in the kingdom.
Al-Zayani added the operation conducted by Bahraini security apparatus in Al-Deraz area, including arrest of a number of suspects and fugitives, showed the resilience and readiness to take all measures to protect the kingdom' from instability and insecurity in the country.
Al-Zayani also expressed his admiration for the relentless efforts exerted by Bahraini Interior Minister General Rashed Al-Khalifa for following up closely all security plans, including efforts to find the terrorists and bring them to justice.
Earlier, Bahraini Interior ministry said 50 suspects were arrested, including fugitive terrorists from Jau prison, as part of operation to restore order in the kingdom. (end) mdm.mb
