Qatar denounces Manchester attack

DOHA, May 23 (KUNA) -- Qatar has openly condemned the blast which targeted a concert in the British city of Manchester and left dozens of people dead or injured.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated, in a statement, the country's unshakable stance based on rejecting violence and terrorism regardless of its source, motives and reasons, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
It stressed Qatar's rejection of all criminal attacks that terrorize innocent people and run counter with humanitarian values and principles, it added.
The Ministry reiterated Qatar's full solidarity with the UK government and its support to all measures taken to maintain the country's security, it said.
It further expressed Qatar's condolences to the families of the victims and the UK government, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
A suicide attacker detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) in Manchester Arena, in Manchester city on Monday night, killing 22 people and injuring 59 others, including children. (end) nnd.mt
