Arab League condemns Manchester attack

CAIRO, May 23 (KUNA) -- The Arab League on Tuesday condemned "in the strongest words" Manchester explosion that hit Manchester city on Monday night, and killed and injured scores of people.
The League's Secretary-General Ahmad Abul-Gheit said in a statement that "this heinous incident comes to reaffirm the importance that the international community should move effectively and strongly to fight the growing scourge of terrorism".
He said the danger of terrorism, which has been growing widely to threaten many world countries, requires more measures, cooperation and coordination among concerned agencies in these countries.
Abul-Gheit offered sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wished swift recovery for the wounded.
A suicide attacker detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) in Manchester Arena, in Manchester city on Monday night, killing 22 people and injuring 59 others, including children. (end) mfm.rg.mt
