Riyadh summits epitomize desire for peace - Saudi King

RIYADH, May 22 (KUNA) -- The Riyadh Summits were a testament to collective concerns over peace and security, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud said on Monday.
While presiding over the Saudi Cabinet's weekly meeting, the Saudi King noted that the Gulf Cooperation Council's (GCC) historic deal with the US was the result of strenuous efforts to fight terrorism, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Moreover, the Saudi King said that his country's ties with the US have reached a climax, where cooperation between both nations will be taken to new levels.
The Riyadh summits were also hailed by the Saudi Cabinet as a launchpad for closer ties between the US and the Islamic world.
The Saudi Cabinet touted the launch of the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology, saying it was affirmation of the Kingdom's resolve to combat terrorism. (end) mdm.nam
