Lebanese, French leaders mull over Mideast

BEIRUT, May 22 (KUNA) -- Lebanese President Michel Aoun on Monday called French President-elect Emmanuel Macron, discussing the latest Middle East developments.
During the phone conversation, Aoun congratulated Macron on his election as president of France and wished him all success in carrying out his new presidential duties, the Lebanese Presidency said in a release.
Aoun affirmed Lebanon's keenness on further strengthening and developing relations with France in all walks of life, it added.
On his part, President Macron stressed his country's continuing support for Lebanon's sovereignty, independence and integrity, saying he looks forward to underpinning ties between the two countries. (end) wsm.mt
