KUWAIT, May 22 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti cabinet held its customary weekly meeting at Bayan Palace on Monday under chairmanship of His Highness Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
At the onset of the meeting, the ministers congratulated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on the occasion of the approaching holy month of Ramadan.
Then, First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah briefed his colleague on the outcomes of His Highness the Amir's participation in the 7th Consultative Meeting of the GCC leaders and the Gulf-US summit and Arab-Islamic-US summit held in Riyadh between May 20 and 21.
The Riyadh gatherings focused on a host of regional and international issues and efforts to maintain security and stability in the region, as well as coexistence and tolerance among different world countries.
The cabinet was also apprised on the results of talks held between His Highness the Amir and US President Donald Trump on ways of promoting and developing cooperative relations between both friendly countries in all fields, along with an invitation by His Highness the Amir to the US president to visit the State of Kuwait.
The First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister thanked Saudi Arabia for warm welcome, hospitability and proper arrangements for the successful gatherings held in Riyadh.
Finally, the cabinet congratulated the newly reelected Iranian president Hassan Rouhani, hoping that he would seek to promote regional peace, stability and development. (end) mt
