Turkish delegation leaves for US to prepare for Erdogan's visit

ANKARA, May 5 (KUNA) -- A Turkish high-profile delegation on Friday left for the US to prepare for a meeting between President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his US counterpart Donald Trump later this month.
The delegation includes Chief of the General Staff Hulusi Akar, Intelligence Chief Hakan Fidan and Presidential Spokesperson Ibrahim Kalin.
Erdogan and Trump are expected to discuss the issue of extraditing Fethullah Gulen, , head of what is known as "parallel entity", to Ankara.
Turkey accuses Gulen, who is residing in Pennsylvania, of masterminding the failed coup attempt last year.
Trump was among the first world leaders to congratulate Erdogan after the Turkish people voted in favor of the constitutional amendments in a referendum last month. (end) rs.msa
