New Yorkers gather to spoil Trump's 1st visit to his hometown

NEW York, May 5 (KUNA) -- Hundreds of protesters gathered along Manhattan's west side trying to spoil US President Donald Trump's first visit to his hometown since his inauguration.
Trump arrived to his hometown for a private event aboard the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum attending dinner with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnball.
The event commemorated the 75th anniversary of World War II's Battle of the Coral Sea, when US and Australian forces teamed up to fight the Japanese.
His long-waited visit was received by a high security from the New York Police Department at his former hime in Fifth Avenue, as well as the west side where the event took place.
Anti-Trump protesters booed and chanted "New York hates you" over drums and tambourines, as well as other banners that says "Not My President." Protesters gathered outside the museum also refused his immigration and healthcare policies. (end) mao.mb
