IRBIL, May 25 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti Consulate here distributed on Tuesday 700 food parcels to displaced Iraqis in district of of Shaqlawa in coordination with the relief foundation Rounahee.
Kuwait Society for Relief (KSR) presented the food rations for the relocated Iraqis, said General Consult of the State of Kuwait in Irbil, Dr. Omar Al-Kanderi, in a statement to KUNA.
Kuwait will send in larger amounts of relief supplies to help the largest number possible of the displaced, he added.
The Kuwaiti assistance will be diverse, including construction of schools, health centers and expansion of hospitals.
Roonahee Chairperson Zeyna Mirani said in remarks to KUNA the Kuwaiti assistance materials, handed over to the displaced living outside camps, were very much needed by these relocated people.
"Days ago we delivered 1,300 food parcels and today we distributed 700 ones," she said, indicating the aid reached Iraqis in several regions including Mosul.
A few days ago, the third Kuwaiti-funded schools was opened in Irbil. Kuwaiti started aiding the displaced Iraqis in northern Iraq in 2015. (end) sbr.rk
