KABUL, Oct 22 (KUNA) -- A district governor and his guard were killed on
Friday in an explosion in eastern Afghanistan, said an official.
The vehicle of Khursheed Khan, the governor of Dur Baba district in
Nangarhar province, hit an improvised-explosive device when he was driving to
his office, a district official Ayub Khan told KUNA by telephone.
He said the district chief Khursheed Khan and his one guard were killed on
the spot. Another wounded guard has been shifted to Jalalabad Hospital for
