ISLAMABAD, Oct 19 (KUNA) -- At least three soldiers were killed and two
were wounded in a landmine explosion on Tuesday in northern Pakistan, said
officials.
A security forces vehicle hit a landmine in Makeen district of South
Waziristan tribal agency, security officials told KUNA. They said the
explosion killed three soldiers and wounded two others.
Immediately after the incident, said officials, forces launched an
operation and targeted suspected militant hideouts. However, there were no
reports of casualties on militants side. (end)
