Arab League''s chief arrives in Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Dec 8 (KUNA) -- Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Arabi arrived, on Thursday, to the Iraqi capital of Baghdad on an official visit.
Al-Arabi will meet Iraqi President Jalal talabani, Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki and Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari.
The Arab League chief will discuss, during his visit, the readiness of the Iraqi government to host the upcoming Arab League Summit on March 2012. He will also shed light on the latest developments in the Arab region, especially the situation in Syria.
Earlier, Iraqi Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs Ministry Lubaid Abawi stressed to KUNA his government's stance on the Syrian scene and that "Iraq will reiterate, during the summit, its position on Syria to serve the best interest of the country." (end) mhg.nfm KUNA 081457 Dec 11NNNN
