KUWAIT, Dec 4 (KUNA) -- The Fifth American-Kuwaiti Neurosurgical Conference
got underway here on Sunday with participation of representatives of Kuwait's
Ministry of Health and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons
(AANS).
This event reflects the MoH concern about medical education, development of
vocational and technical skills of staff and preparing a new generation of
qualified specialists in this field, said Dr. Khaled Al-Sahlawi, the MoH
Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Affairs, in a statement at the
inaugural session, addressed on behalf of Minister of Health Dr. Hilal
Al-Sayer.
This convention constitutes an opportunity for participating delegations to
exchange expertise, he said.
Dr. Youssef Al-Awadi, Chief of Neurosurgery Department at Ibn Sina
Hospital, affirmed significance of participation of the American association.
Major goal of holding such a congress is to get acquainted with continuing
development in this field, namely usage of new techniques and surgical tools
and devices, Dr. Al-Awadhi said, praising major role of the MoH regarding
support given to the country's hospitals, namely Ibn Sina Hospital, such as
surgical and scanning devices.
Conferees, among other topics to be tackled at the three-day conference,
would address complications resulting from surgeries. (end)
