MANAMA, Nov 16 (KUNA) -- Security conditions in the Kingdom of Bahrain are
assuring in general, said Bahraini Interior Minister Lieutenant General Sheikh
Rashed bin Abdullah Al-Khalifa on Wednesday.
Authorities are maintaining tight control of the internal security
situation and the enforced precautions are sufficient to abort any plot that
may target the Kingdom security and stability, said the minister during a
reception of the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Kingdom, Sheikh
Azzam Mubarak Al-Sabah.
The minister, during the meeting stressed on necessity of security
coordination among member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council for sake of
maintaining stability of the regional countries, and praised level of the
bilateral ties between the Kingdom and the State of Kuwait.
For his part, Sheikh Azzam stated that the security of the Gulf is
inseparable from security of each of the regional countries. He also hailed
the Kuwaiti-Bahraini relations "that are deeply-rooted in history."
Bilateral ties between Bahrain and Kuwait and various issues of joint
interest were addressed during the meeting.
Bahrain and Kuwait are member states of the six-seat Gulf Cooperation
Council, founded in the 80s with the aim of enhancing ties and coordination
among these countries at various levels. The GCC was established in shadow of
a major war between Iraq and Iran. (end)
